What a special way to experience this barrier island. It is a rich jewel with undeveloped beaches that add to its allure. Paddling options include a waterfront view of Amelia Island’s historic Forth Clinch, then on to Cumberland Island National Seashore, where guests can experience the beautiful coastal atmosphere that this island has to offer. Not only will kayak guests be able to explore the beautiful coastline and interior waterways, but they will also spend time on the Island having an up close view of the grounds of the historic ruins where wild horses often can be seen. Downtown to Dunes Community Cleanup
Meet before the cleanup at First Love Brewing in Fernandina Beach for a continental breakfast sponsored by First Port City Bank. Pick up supplies and an event tshirt (first 120 volunteers - while supplies last). Bring your gloves and a reusable water bottle. We suggest closed-toe shoes for the cleanup. Site Captains at the Atlantic Rec Center, Front and Alachua in Fernandina Beach, Hickory Street, and First Love Brewing will be available to collect supplies at the end of the cleanup. Return to the site captain no later than 10:30 am.

Bonsai & Beer
Guided by professional bonsai artist Alex Stanford, the owner of Northeast Florida's oldest bonsai nursery, you'll learn the essential skills and techniques for styling your very own bonsai tree. No prior experience or tools are required—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity! We’ll be working with tropical species, which are easy to care for (even if you have a busy schedule). After a brief introduction to the history and fundamentals of bonsai, you'll get hands-on experience potting, pruning, and styling your tree. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own personalized bonsai tree to nurture for years to come! Space is limited, so be sure to secure your tickets early! Tickets are non-refundable reservations. Rescheduling for a workshop on a different day requires a $15 rescheduling fee.
Sunrise with Spoonbills
As an ecotour of the Wild Amelia Nature Festival, join Christina Nelson, Amelia Naturally, for a guided walk at spoonbill pond as the sky and nature awakes. This is a great place to observe wildlife along a boardwalk and observation platform without a lot of walking. Bring binoculars, spotting scopes and cameras.
S.O.S Al-Anon Open Meeting
If someone else’s drinking has affected your life, you are welcome here. S.O.S. is an Al-Anon Family Group that meets weekly in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. Meetings are free, confidential, and open to newcomers. Al-Anon is a mutual support fellowship for families and friends of alcoholics. It is not AA, and it is not for the person with the drinking problem. It is for the people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking — whether that person is a spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend, partner, or loved one.

Chefs Theater
The Chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island are presenting a monthly cooking demonstration preparing and cooking a variety of cuisines. Small class sizes create an intimate environment hosted in Salt Restaurant. After each demonstration, students dine with a matched wine and return to the set for the next dish. The final demonstration is by the pastry chefs.

Wild Nite Nature - Raccoon Rescue
Facts about raccoons and why they are important to our local ecosystem. There will be a discussion on common myths and misconceptions, information on wildlife rescue, and what to do if you find a wild animal in need of help. We will learn about a local rescue, Tows and Tails, and the story of their educational ambassador, Crystal. It is a story you do not want to miss! Expect lots of cute raccoon merchandise and a new book on Crystal’s story. A cash bar and snacks will be available. The speaker is Kristen Littles, Director of Tows and Tails, a licensed rescue for raccoons with disabilities. Kristen is also the caregiver to the rescue’s educational ambassador raccoon, Crystal. Kristen and Crystal offer educational opportunities in the community by attending events and classroom visits to help people learn about raccoons and wildlife rescue.
